1
Wednesday, New Delhi

Today you will depart from Delhi for the exotic journey. You shall be assisted during transfer to reach Safdarjung Railway Station at a scheduled boarding time 1600 hours. Welcome on board with the ceremonial greetings & traditional Aarti Tika with garlanding and some mock tails to refresh your selves.

After check in, you would be escorted to the respective cabins. Feel the difference of the World in the moving Palace which empowers luxury and tradition.
The Train will depart at 2100 hrs.

Thursday, Sawai Madhopur - Udaipur

Arrive Sawai Madhopur at 0530 hrs.
Proceed for an early a enthralling Jeep Safari inside the famous Tiger Reserve.
Sawai Madhopur - Located in the eastern part of Rajasthan, Sawai Modhupur’s claim to fame today is the Ranthombore fort & Rathambore national park.

Visit the national park to catch a glimpse of the majestic tigers roaming around in the open wilderness & also pay a visit to the imposing fort to turn a page in the history of Rajasthan. There is also a temple on route the park by the name of Amareshwar Mohadeo temple which can be visited by tourist.

Return back to Train at 0930 hrs to have a late Lunch.
After the Lunch you will proceed for afternoon safari at Ranthambore National Park.
After the safaris return backtrain for onboard journey.
Leave for Udaipur at 0930 hrs.
Arrive Udaipur at 1130 hrs.

Friday, Udaipur

The train arrives at Udaipur at 0700 hrs. After Breakfast on board proceed for the sightseeing of Udaipur.
Udaipur - Water marked by whimsy & splendor, the Venice of the holds stage as one of India’s truly seductive cities. Udaipur is raw Rajput dreaming, with palaces, haveils gardens & temples at every turn.

Later in the afternoon, take a boat cruise on Lake Pichola to visit Jag Mandir Palace by common boat, which covers almost four acres and is noted for its marble pavilion and an imposing dome. You’ll see people doing their laundry on the shores of the lake against the backdrop of the massive City Palace and the old city.

After the sightseeing tour proceed to the train for onboard journey.

Saturday, Jaipur

Arrive Jaipur in the morning.
Welcome by caparisoned elephants & sweet music of the auspicious ‘Shehnai’. Watch the awesome ‘Hawa Mahal’ (the palace of winds), elephants ride at Amber Fort, shopping of centuries old object de arts & other items. Lunch at a 1135A.D. cafe Amber & visit to the city palace residence of the Erstwhile Maharaja of Jaipur which houses a museum of amazing centuries-old artifacts & the observatory built by the founder of Jaipur Maharaja Sawai jai Singh-II who himself was noted astronomer. Dinner hotel Jai Mahal palace with cultural program.

Jaipur's Jantar Mantar is the most famous of five observatories built by Sawai Jai Singh in India. Jai Singh was a great admirer of progresses and research made in the fields of science and technology, but he was passionate about astronomy. There is a very interesting story behind the construction of this observatory, considered as the largest stone observatory in the world.
Sawai Jai Singh sent his emissaries to all parts of the world before commencing the construction of this observatory. The emissaries returned with many manuals on astronomy containing cutting-edge technological information. One of these manuals was a copy of La Hire's "Tables".
The king ordered the observatory to be built according to the details contained in this manual. When the construction ended, for the astonishment of the king and others, the observatory was 20 seconds more accurate than the one mentioned in "Table.

After the sightseeing tour proceed to the train for onboard journey.

Sunday, Bharatpur - Agra

Upon arrival at Bharatpur, proceed to Agra en-route visiting Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted red sandstone city, built by the Great Mughal Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the late 16th century.  It was abandoned soon after it was built when the local wells went dry and it remains today in much the same condition that it was over 300 years ago.  
It is complete with palaces and mosques and used to be a town larger than London when it was originally constructed. Now it is an extraordinary place to wander around with its buildings in near perfect condition.  
Proceed for the sightseeing of Agra vistiing the impressive Agra fort in the morning.

Visit of Agra Fort

This was originally made of bricks Babar was the first Mughal Emperor who stayed in this fort. Humayun was crowned here, Akbar rebuilt the fort with red sand stone and decided to make it his capital. Shahjahan destroyed some of the old buildings in order to make his own.
Shajahan was imprisoned by his own son in this fort. The fort was witness of Indian mutiny of 1857. Shahjahan got the inspiration for the Red Fort of Delhi from here. Agra Fort is a world heritage site.

Later proceed for sightseeing of world famous monument of Lover & Passion – The Taj Mahal.

Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal was built on the banks of river yamuna by emperor Shajahan in the memory of his beloved wife Ajumand Bano. The site selected for the tomb was given by the Maharaja of Amber. White marble was taken from makrana Rajasthan.
The chief architect was Ustad Isa Afendi and Ustad Lahori. Artists were invited from Persia, Turkey and Baghdad. The work of mausoleum began in 1633 and 20,000 workers laboured for 17 years to build it.
The marble walls are carved with motifs and inlaid work of precious and semi precious stones. For centuries this monuments has attracted tourist from all over the world. Taj Mahal is a world heritage site.
Late afternoon enjoy Light & Sound show on the History of Taj in a covered audition.

Late evening return back to the Palace Train for Dinner on board.

Monday, Khajuraho

Arrive Khajuraho at 1000 hrs. Breakfast will be served on board. Proceed for Khajuraho sightseeing.

Khajuraho -
Khajuraho was the capital of the Chandela Kings, now famous for its magnificent temples. The temples were built by Chndela dynasty between 950 A.D. and 1050 A.D., are example of Indo Aryan architecture. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and the Jain Tirthnkras, the temple show case the art and architecture of medieval India. The Khajuraho temples have declared a world Heritage site. The Temples of Khajuraho are divided in to three geographical groups western, eastern and southern.

Today you will first visit exotic Western group of Temples which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and considered to be the most evolved example of central Indian temple architecture. This temple is also the largest of Khajuraho temples.
Enjoy Lunch at Hotel Clarks Khajuraho.

Later visit South group of temples and Khajuraho museum.
Return back to the Palace Train for evening Tea. Time free to relax & unwind or you can take shower to refresh.
Evening you shall proceed to attend sound & Light Show (son-et-lumire). This show details the history of Khajuraho town in the back drop of Western group of Temples.
Return back to the train followed by Dinner on board.

Later depart for Varanasi at 2000 Hrs

Tuesday, Varanasi

The Train arrives Varanasi at 0600 hrs.

Varanasi (or Benaras) -

Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities of the world. Varanasi is more than 3000 years old and known as the city of temples. The city is situated on the bank of holy river Ganga which is worshipped as a living goddess in Hindu religion.
There are more than 700 temples and 90 odd ghats (river Banks). Lord Vishwanath Temple or Golden temple is dedicated to the Lord Shiva. The Ganga Ghats (River Fronts) are the most popular pilgrimage spots of Varanasi. The holy city has been a symbol of spiritualism, philosophy & mysticism for thousands of years It was the city chosen by the Buddha for first turning the wheel of his law for mankind.

Early morning disembark from the train & proceed for Unforgettable sun rise boat ride when the temples along the river front are bathed in the sun light.
Visit of Bharat Mata Mandir and world famous Benaras Hindu University after boat ride.
Return to the Palace train for breakfast.
Later visit of Sarnath and Archeological Museum. Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha delivered his first major sermon after gaining Enlightment. Chinese scholar Huein Tsang also visited sarnath in 640.

Enjoy your Lunch at Gateway Taj Ganges and return back to Train for rest.
Today you wil have one of the most memorable evenings to witness the Ritualistic worship of River Goddess Ganga at Dahsawmegh Ghat (banks) where oil lamps and incense are lit, flowers are offered and bells ring out in unison while sacred mantras are chanted.
Return to the train for Dinner on board
